Are silk-screened t-shirts better than iron-on t-shirts?
ProtestWarrior only sells t-shirts that are silk-screened. Silk-screening is a process where a t-shirt design is broken down into different layers, each layer responsible for one color. Each silk screen is placed on the bare t-shirt where a particular color is then applied, one by one. Some of our full color tshirts require up to 8 different silk screens to be created and pressed individually onto the t-shirt. This painstaking method produces t-shirts that are vibrant with color and durable enough to last a lifetime. On the other hand, iron-on t-shirts (which many online t-shirt stores sell, including Cafepress stores), are created by pressing an iron over a printed image and transferring the image to the fabric. This is a very cheap and low-cost way of printing t-shirts, and the t-shirts made using this technique often look like someone just slapped a sticker onto the fabric.
