Are SGS courses regular college courses?
Yes. SGS curriculum tracks and courses are selected based upon the university’s general requirements for first-year students (for example, first-year writing, and so on), as well as for requirements fulfilled within the various colleges and majors. All SGS courses parallel their correlate courses offered for first-year students in the university’s other colleges. While the SGS first year does not mirror the other colleges’ first-year programs exactly, students enrolled in SGS fulfill a combination of first-year and graduation requirements. In general, the SGS curriculum meets students’ academic requirements, and pays close attention to developing the skills necessary for academic success at NU.
