Are Sega genesis graphics better than Sega mega drive graphics?
The graphics are exactly the same because the machines are the same. The proper name is Sega Mega Drive but Sega were forced to release it under the name Genesis in North America because they were unable to secure legal rights to the Mega Drive name in that region. Nintendo did a similar thing with the Super Nintendo (called SNES in Europe, Famicom in Japan, Comboy in South Korea, and had a different design in America, but essentially all machines were the same). The only real difference is the television systems used to play these consoles. The American version (Genesis) runs on NTSC television systems refreshing at 60 Hz, while the European machines (Mega Drive) use the PAL 50 Hz televisions. While you may get less flicker and a faster frame-rate using NTSC, it is in fact the 50 Hz televisions (with more lines per screen) that offer the better picture quality. Console games are made specifically for these television regions, which is why an American game won’t work on a European cons
