Are scholarships available?
We have numerous undergraduate and graduate scholarships and awards for students in the School. Undergraduates can apply for scholarships in the spring semester before your junior and senior year. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need and academic performance. Scholarship applications are due Feb. 1 each year, and selections are made in April for the following academic year. Winners receive one-half of the scholarship at the beginning of the fall semester and the remainder at the beginning of the spring semester.
A7. A limited number of business scholarships are available to Business Scholars and to continuing business majors. The business scholarships for entering Business Scholars are normally awarded in the spring before the students come to SMU (spring of the senior year in high school). There is no additional application for these first-year business scholarships; scholarship selection is based on the overall quality of the SMU application for admission.
Scholarships, grants and prizes are occasionally available. Often colleges and universities are searching not only for bright students, but also for interesting and original candidates. If you have any special talent, in fields such as music, sports, arts, student politics or others, make sure to mention it in your application.
