Are Russian and Croatian people alike?
They don’t speak the same language, but both Russian & Croatian belong to the Slavic group of languages. They don’t use the same script as someone said: Russians use the Cyrillic and Croatians the Latin script. They don’t share the religion either: Russians are predominantly Orthodox and Croatians are Catholics. Although as part of the ex-Yugoslavia Croatians never were under the Soviet rule as the Polish, still they’re not too keen on this common root. I even remember some theories pushed forward by Croats about them not being Slavs at all, but Venets or some such thing…. edit@Graham: You too have stated a few misconceptions. I’d never use the term “completely different” when comparing/contrasting Croatian&Russian. Completely different would be reserved for Chinese&Portuguese in my opinion.
