I think that the level skill of the two codes is very similar but league players to show it more as they do not engage in negative tactics like they do in union. In Union if they win a penalty in the opponents half they always kick for 3 instead of gaining ground and allowing their backs to attack the tryline and show their skill. Although League forwards are much more skillful than union ones as they offload much more and league hookers can kick. So I think league players are slightly more skillful.
