Are return visits billable to DMC as a second UOS in one day?
For NTP (Narcotic Treatment Program) and ODF (outpatient drug-free), only if the following requirements are met: • The return visit is not a duplicate service; and • The return visit is not a hardship; and • The return visit is clearly documented in the progress notes and the times are noted; and • The progress notes record that an effort was made to provide all necessary services during one visit and the return visit was unavoidable; or • The return visit is a crisis visit and is clearly documented as such. For DCH (day care habilitative), only crisis visits are billable as a second UOS in one day. The visit must be clearly documented and the times of the crisis visit clearly noted in the client record.
