X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a film that has no particular reason for existing. It tells the background story behind a major character from the X-Men film franchise. I believe that retailers are selling more Wolverine backpacks than Batman backpacks for several reasons but here are the two reasons why . The first reason is because the Wolverine movie was released this year and the last Batman movie was released last year. The second reason is that boys perceive that it is easier to “become” Wolverine than it is to become “Batman”. The Wolverine’s character archetype tends to resonate more with boys than Batman does. Wolverine is fiercely independent, he is resourceful despite his lack of resources, and can adapt to any dangerous situation with his limited equipment: he has his healing powers, sense of smell, claws, and experience. In short, Wolverine is a “man’s man” is the type of man that boys would aspire to be. The goal of “becoming” Wolverine is attainable. Batman on the other hand is rich, he has tons of money.
