Are Resume Distribution Services Worth It?

0

As a recruiter, I get resumes from resume distribution services on a regular basis. The question I hear from candidates is usually “Are these services really worth it?” My initial thought is always no – I believe that the best jobs come from networking and other targeted strategies. Then I remember the handful of high level people I’ve met, and subsequently placed, who came to me through a resume broadcast mailing. And I have to be honest. These are people who I probably would not have found, had it not been for this service. So, if you’re in a job search, and you’re looking for a way to get some good exposure for your background, try one or two of these services. You’ll reach some people in the executive search community in a very efficient way. One note of caution…if you are currently employed, and need your search to remain confidential, this is not a strategy I would recommend.
