Are renovations or new construction of a building allowed under the LLEBG Program?
Renovations of facilities are permitted when specifically approved by BJA. (Your jurisdiction must formally request prior approval in writing.) However, these costs may not exceed 10% of the total federal funds utilized for a given project. For example, a renovation project costs $100,000, the total federal funds the program office may allow to be spent on such a project cannot exceed $10,000. The amount allocated to a purpose area has no impact on the approved amount.
