Are religious concepts parasitic upon moral intuitions?

To a certain extent. However many (if not most) religious concepts are contrary to moral intuitions. They are purposefully so, as control is a big part of religion. The story of Adam and eve (if it were true) would be a great example of the supernatural being setting us up in order to teach us a lesson. Unfortunately that lesson was “God is kind of a dick”.

All of religion is nothing but the redirection of emotions and moral intuitions, as you phrased it, towards one being (and often its “representatives on Earth”) and against all others. If manipulation ever existed, it was religion.
