Are Reborn Dolls Just For the Big Girls Or Are They Suitable For Children?
Most reborn doll collectors and makers consider that reborn baby dolls are not suitable for children as they may damage them and they are really a collector’s item (although they do throw in about small parts and choking hazards on occasion). I disagree that reborn dolls are only exclusively for adults and think they should be shared with careful prospective ‘little mothers’. If your daughter is over 5, really loves her baby dolls and looks after them, then an appropriate reborn will be just fine for her. Reborn dolls can be carefully dressed and redressed and nappied and re-nappied. After investing the money on buying such a doll (which won’t be cheap) for your daughter- it needs to be explained to her that this is a special baby that needs extra care and handled just like a real baby- (not dragged around the garden in a toy wheelborrow).
