Are Real Estate Agents paid a salary if they work for a company, or is everything commission based?
New agents are almost never paid a salary to my knowledge. Experienced agents receive a greater percentage of the commission and can negotiate other benefits from their broker, such as advertising reimbursement, a good office, parking space, etc. The very top agents actually earn more than 100% of the commission after all the perks are considered. That’s because those agents bring in so much business, have so many signs, and contribute to the “power” of the office that the broker more than makes up for the difference.
