Are rattan wood martial Arts weApons durAble enough to sor full contact use?
As long as you are not beating things with it Rattan will last. Rattan is good because is it fairly cheap, soft enough to absorb most common shocks, bumps and bang-ups and yet hard enough to be used for contact. Other woods are so hard that once you hit something too hard, they crack or splinter. Rattan is resistant to such problems. (But not immune.) So, although you can use it for contact, you will need to replace it in time. It is however one of the best woods for contact martial arts.
