Are railing kits from Deck Images environmentally friendly?

0

Yes. The aluminum used to produce our rail kits is comprised using a minimum of 75% recycled post-industrial scrap and the remainder from a prime source such as bauxite. The process of converting scrap aluminum into reusable aluminum is very environmentally friendly. Aluminum: • Is able to be recycled indefinitely since virtually no waste is generated in converting one pound of scrap into one pound of extrusion ingot. • Does not lose quality during recycling. • When recycled, requires approximately 1/10 of the energy used by a primary producer to convert bauxite (ore used in making aluminum). In addition to using recycled aluminum, our railing systems receive an environmentally-friendly powder-coated finish. The powder coating process is virtually pollution free since, unlike liquid paint used in a standard spray painting process, there are no solvents used and minimal waste occurs. Negligible amounts, if any at all, of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are released into the atmosphere
