Are radio waves used for wireless routers and walkie talkies, or do those use microwaves?
wireless routers walkie talkies use radio waves, there are many band widths of radio waves and these two items use specific bands .The bands widths are AM (amplitude modulated) FM (Frequency modulated) VHF (Veriable High Frequency) UHF (Ultra Hi Frequency) HF (High Frequency) AM & FM & TV fall under the VHF band (radio and hand held devices, CB’s and Short Wave Radio) UHF is generally used by FAA ( airlines ) or by the government for emergency broadcast. UHF is generally line of sight meaning you have to be able to see what you are talking to ,HF is generally used by the government due to the fact that you are putting out alot of RF watts (radio frequency watts) which will cause burns if you touch the antenna while transmitting. these burns are alot like microwave burns as it burns from the inside. Micro waves are something entirly different and alot stronger and will mosst definately harm you if you get near a micro wave antenna again they are used by the military or government due to
