Are rabbits hard to take care of?

Rabbits are not difficult to look after, but you will have to clean their cages regularly, and spend time with them every day – rabbits get lonely and sad easily. They can be toilet trained easily, and will just use one corner of their cage for the toilet – you will have to clean this at least once every two days, and clean the whole cage once a week. If you have them in the house (the best place for them), you need to make sure that your house is rabbit proof – cover any wires and plugs, move anything breakable out of reach, block access to anywhere you don’t want them to go (they are very nosey and will try to explore everywhere). If they are outside, be prepared to go and spend plenty of time with them every day. The website below has lots of information about looking after and understanding pet rabbits (click on the rabbits link).
