Are Quaker Rice Cakes made from whole grain?
The large Quaker Rice Cakes are made from whole grain, hearty, long brown rice. Every kernel of grain has three parts — the bran, endosperm and germ. This is what constitutes a “whole” grain. Some of the cakes are also made with degerminated corn, which is not whole grain. The germ is the storehouse or source of fat that naturally occurs in grains. The removal of the germ allows us to produce cakes that are low fat or fat free.
