As of this writing (Feb 3, 2011), there are now 231 PSM programs at 106 different institutions, including some out of the US. There has been significant growth in the number of PSM programs in recent years and the current list of PSM programs can be found at Sciencemasters.com. The National Professional Science Masters Association is committed to providing assistance to institutions wishing to start PSM programs, its institutional members, and the student and alumni members who have experienced PSM program education firsthand.

There are indications that the number of PSM programs will roughly double in the next several years. Some estimates suggest a number of about 1000 nationally in the long-term.
