Are providers required to assess children in the LAUP classroom?

0

Yes. LAUP requires that children are assessed at least two times per year. Teachers should assess a child’s developmental progress using natural observations, anecdotal records, developmental checklists (e.g. the Desired Results list or Ages & Stages) and other appropriate instruments for the purpose of understanding the child’s strengths and weaknesses. Assessment results should be made available and discussed with parents.
