Are PROMISE data available to researchers?
No. PROMISE is a VA-based quality improvement project, not a research study. Its primary goal is improving end-of-life care for veterans. PROMISE data is not shared with researchers. Although VA-based research investigators may eventually be able to conduct a secondary analysis of existing data, with the appropriate IRB approval and privacy safeguards, this is not currently possible.
