Are programs at provisional, probational, or terminal accreditation accredited?
Yes, provisional and terminal accreditation is not punitive status. Provisional accreditation is granted to programs in their first initial five years of accreditation. Programs on probational accreditation are considered accredited. Graduates of provisional, probational, or terminal accredited programs are considered to be graduates of an AVMA CVTEA accredited program and therefore should be eligible for licensure.
