A. Yes. A program to ensure that work on structures, systems and components important to safety and waste isolation receives appropriate engineering review is required to maintain the design bases of the repository. The plans and procedures for such a program need to be included in the LSN. Section 2.5.1.3 Acceptance Criterion 6 of the Yucca Mountain Review Plan describes the documentation and activities that the NRC staff will review for the control of procurement documents.
