Are private speech/language services covered by Manitoba Health?
Private speech/language assessments and therapy are unfortunately not covered by Manitoba Health insurance. Many private health insurance plans (e.g. Blue Cross, Great West Life) cover services provided by a speech-language pathologist. Receipts are provided to parents to submit for reimbursement of services. Check with your plan to determine if a physician’s referral is necessary before service begins.
