Are private schools better than public schools when applying for colleges?
I don’t think so. If you know what program of study you’d like to pursue, then check out several public and private colleges. Find a few that have sound programs and go visit the college. Talk with the professors and students in that program at those colleges. Private colleges *usually* cost more, but they also are more likely to hand out larger scholarships and grants to their students. You’ll find that a large number of public colleges and universities have top notch, world reknown programs in several fields of study at a more reasonable price. Contrary to any myth you might hear, employers do not hire based on what schools an applicant went to, they want to know how well an applicant was prepared for the job and how well they perform.
