Are private companies exempt from the IT Security industry policies, mandates and standards?
Good day to you, I have been building up a cultural awareness around IT Security in private companies because of the push backs i’ve been getting in regards to the fact that they are a private company and as such are not impacted by the issues of the IT Security Threats Landscape :-). While I cringe at hearing those words and the ways in which i’m being pushed back, I wanted to get some feedback and input from other organizations and how they are dealing with it in general. Are private companies exempted from these policies and rules? What are the legal issues surrounding this in private vs. public companies.
