Are Preventive Medicine Measures Worth It?
Preventive medicine measures aim to help patients and communities not only to resist diseases and infections but also to prolong and improve their quality of life. As its name implies, preventive medicine takes its cue from that old adage, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Moreover, in fact, it is true that in many cases, it takes much less effort to stop an incident from occurring in the first place than to deal with its consequences later on. These preventive measures include sanitation, pest and vermin control, vaccination, and immunization, among many other methodologies. This approach, as we shall see, makes sense in many ways, and deserves to be considered when drafting any comprehensive medical strategies.
