Are post secondary completers data matched to the GED?
A8. No. The GED Testing Site GED database is matched with appropriate STAIRS learners for the NRS GED measure. Community college records are matched with appropriate STAIRS learners for the NRS Postsecondary measure.Q9. The NRS goal related to Citizenship reads, “Obtain Citizenship Skills.” However, the STAIRS Achievement tab reads, “Received U.S. Citizenship.” When should we record achievement/attainment in these two areas?A9. The NRS goal relates to improvement in obtaining citizenship skills. Achievement of this goal may be recorded (on the STAIRS Goal tab) when improvement in citizenship skills is observed and documented, for example via a teacher-administered citizenship practice test. The Achievement tab should only be marked when U.S. Citizenship has actually been attained. The student should be able to produce an actual Certificate of Naturalization in this case.
