This was the case on April 13th when CNN’s Anne Harding reported that a new study found that some anti-seizure medications have a higher risk of suicidal thoughts and violent deaths than others in the same class of anticonvulsants. The study which was funded by the Harvard School of Public Health and Healthcare, and led by Dr. Elisabetta Patorno, found that out of over 297,000 people with new prescriptions of these drugs there were 801 suicide attempts, 26 suicides and 41 violent deaths.
