Are polygamous relationships healthier, or at least more realistic than monogamous ones?

I believe in certain circumstances, yes they are both healthier and more realistic. Take polygamous relationships in some tribal communities in Africa, for example. Society and culture requires that the women in these societies do pretty much all the work. It would be incredibly difficult for one wife to bare all the children, do the chores, look after her husband, chop wood, collect water etc etc etc. In these societies I think being in a polygamous relationship is the best situation for the women to be in.
