Pocketknives may be used at camp ONLY in the following circumstances: • Pocketknives are never to be used by a cub scout at the Wolf/Bear Resident Camp sessions. These scouts have not had the opportunity to earn their Whittling Chip Card. Please do not bring knives to Wolf/Bear Resident Camp. • Scouts at Webelos Resident Camp may use pocketknives only if a scout has earned the Whittling Chip Card before coming to camp and has his card on his person while he is using the knife. • Scouts failing to adhere to these policies will have their pocketknives taken away from them until camp is over. We know these rules sound extreme, but they are Cub Scout policies. They have been created because the safety of our scouts is our first priority. Cub Scouts that have not been properly trained to use knives have an even greater chance of injury to themselves and to others. Knives that are used to damage or destroy camp property will also be confiscated and the scout will be properly disciplined. The
