Are PMS Symptoms a Sign of Pregnancy?
Symptoms of PMS and signs of pregnancy can be identical. PMS remains a medical enigma, since symptoms vary from woman to woman. Women begin to build progesterone in the body near ovulation, in anticipation of pregnancy, at about the same time that PMS occurs (about 10 days before menses). When an egg isn’t fertilized, progesterone levels drop, PMS disappears and menses begins. If the egg is fertilized, progesterone levels continue to rise to help the body support pregnancy.
