Are Planet cleaning products safe to use in greywater systems?
There isn’t a simple yes or no answer for this question, however generally speaking, yes our cleaning products are safe to use in greywater systems for watering of your lawn, flowers, ornamentals, vegetables, etc. For many years, people have used our cleaning products very successfully with their greywater systems. Just be sure to read up carefully on installing greywater systems, how to treat the greywater, and how to use greywater properly because there are many factors involved. Laundry detergents are alkaline in their nature because alkalinity helps the detergent perform better in the wash. So if you are using greywater specifically from your washer for watering purposes, you should be aware that this will increase the alkalinity in your soil. Some plants and flowers are tolerant of alkaline soils, others are not.
