Are PIN numbers in GATOR always 7 digits long?
The short answer is no. There are parcels, such as, District Lot 1, Alberni Land District whose PIN is 130, which is just 3 digits. Another example is a surveyed right-of-way whose PIN is 10114630 which is eight digits. Therefore, if you are provided a PIN number that is not 7 digits, then it may not be in error. If you want to be sure you have been provided the correct PIN number then we suggest you search by Legal Description in Tantalis Gator, for the parcel in question. Look for the PIN number on the Query Results or Parcel Details page. You can conduct this search yourself, once you have registered for a Tantalis Gator account.
