All Physician Assistants are excluded from writing any schedule medications until the Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration issues licenses to Physician Assistants in the state of Arkansas. Currently, only legend drugs such as antibiotics, Claritin, etc. can be written. When DEA’s are approved in Arkansas, Physician Assistants may write all schedule III-V prescriptions.
