They have a doctorate. It’s a Doctor of Pharmacy. And they will call each other “doctor”. 😀 Pharmacists are the gate keepers to drugs. Most drugs are in pill form, and most people just see the pharmacist hand them a bottle of pills. That’s why they call them “pill pushers.” In actuality, pharmacists very rarely count pills. They’re either prepackaged or the pharm tech counts it for them. Pharmacists actually check and make sure the drug the doctor prescribed will do what the doctor intends, and that it won’t cause any conflicts with other medication you may be taking. Basically, they’re a backup in case the doctor screwed up when writing you a prescription. I’ve got lots of friends and family who are doctors and pharmacists. I love my friends and family that are docs, but docs really don’t know much about drugs. Too much out there. Only so much a person can know. So, they screw up constantly, and there better be a competent pharmacist around who can make sure the drugs aren’t going to
