Issues related to the storage of personal records on Calgary Board of Education premises should be addressed by each school/service unit. As a general principle, employees should not store personal records on Calgary Board of Education premises. If the records of an employee relate to the operational functions of the Calgary Board of Education, then the records are the property of the Calgary Board of Education and are covered by the Act. If an employee’s personal records become integrated with other information held by the Calgary Board of Education and are used in decision making or program activities, then they are considered to be Calgary Board of Education records even though they were not originally collected for the Calgary Board of Education.
