Are personal checks acceptable to cover Closing costs and down payment?
In accordance with Georgia law, a Closing Attorney is unable to accept a personal check in excess of $5000.00 at Closing. Assuming your cost will be in excess of this amount, you will need to bring a cashier’s check, certified check, a check drawn on a Georgia attorney’s trust account, or have the funds wired directly to Slepian & Schwartz, L.L.C.
