Are people with anti social personality disorder capable of loving?
I’d say it would depend on your definition of love. To me, I view love as a chemical reaction in the brain that makes you feel good. This reaction is a reward system, rewarding you when you do something which facilitates the continuation of the species. That reward encourages you to pursue what causes that feel good feeling, such as seeking out or spending time with a mate, or spending time with family/friends who will fill the role of assisting you in child raising should you ever have children. Putting that in simpler terms, love makes you feel good when you are around certain people. Which is how I think most people would define it? So really, love is a selfish thing because it is all about how you feel. This is why people can “fall out of love”. When people say that, what they’re actually saying is that their significant other no longer makes them feel the way they used to.
