Are people expecting this album to be Hyphy now that the Hyphy scene is exploding?
It’s funny. Some writers are putting me in a class of Hyphy rappers because they’re writing about the Hyphy scene. I don’t feel that I am making Hyphy music. I feel like I’m just trying to make what I thought was lacking in the Bay. You can tell I listened and grew up on Hip Hop. I felt there was void. That’s one of the reasons I started rapping. Not only could I sound like E-40 or Keak da Sneak, but I can also sound like Balance. Is the Hyphy movement about to be oversaturated? Everything that blows up becomes oversaturated. That’s a big problem in the rap game. You have MTV, BET, radio, magazines, and the internet. You get sick of seeing the same artist. You have to spend a lot of money. Groups like Outkast don’t have to worry about oversaturation. Dr. Dre doesn’t have to worry about that. Look at Eminem. He’s one of my favorite artists, but even he knows he’s fighting oversaturation. He doesn’t even sound like he likes rapping right now. Oversaturation is a big problem. If this Hyph
