Are people buying used cars?
Oh yeah. Our used-car business is off 15 percent compared to 30 percent in the new-car business. What’s the trickle down in Wichita, Kan., to what’s going on in Detroit right now? I have had a few customers ask what’s going to happen to Chrysler and General Motors. But Chevy people buy Chevy and Chrysler people buy Chrysler and Ford people buy Ford. I have seen people that are moving away from imports and buying domestic cars right now, which is good. I’ve got two import stores. There are people that we’re talking to that their impression is they need to do their part by buying American-made cars. There are a lot of foreign cars being made in America right now. Is that a misnomer? It’s still American manpower being used to make these cars. Does that complicate the issue of doing your part? Sure, it does. They make Nissans in Tennessee. They make Hondas in the states. Those are American workers building those cars. How does the media cover this story without seeming gloom and doom? I do
