No. People are anti-communist for the most part because all communist countries have been dictatorships. When they want a decent social services package they turn to socialism instead.

Actually, most people who are anti-communist seem to stay that way no matter what, even if living in a communist state would improve their standard of living. Of course, these are the same people who think that communism is the exact same thing as socialism, fascism, any kind of dictatorship, rape, evil, SKYNET, and teen pregnancy.
