Are Pediatricians labelling too many children with Autisim?

Absolutely, same as too many children are being diagnosed with ADD and ADHD. Doctors will come up with a disease for everything, and when they don’t fully know the cause, they label it as something that it isn’t. Basically, they want to blame everything on a big nasty disease, a.k.a blaming hyperactivity and poor parenting (in some cases) on ADD. Now, that is not a dig at genuine cases of ADD, because of course they do exist, but a lot of people just love to say that they can’t control their kids because of a disease, and not just lack of boundaries set in parenting. I am no specialist with austism, your son doesn’t sound like a textbook 22 month old, but I would seek a second opinion before living with the autism diagnosis.
