Are Papillons climbers or diggers?
ANot all Papillons but Papillons can be either or both. You should have secure fencing. A 6+ wood fence is best. Wire fencing makes it easy for a climber to get out. The common solution is to angle the top row of fencing inward at a 45 degree angle or place an oversized piece of PVC pipe with a wire run through it at the top so they cannot get a grip on the top edge. The pipe should have the ability to roll. For digging, I lay 24 plastic coated garden fencing (12 inside and 12 outside the fence line) flat on the ground. It goes over the fence posts and under the gate, pushed down to the ground and is secured in place by the posts and the fencing, staking pens and/or a layer of dirt/mulch/grass. I tywrap the ground wire to the fencing a minimum of every 12. With this system, the dogs cant figure out they need to start 12 out from the fence and cant push under the fence and stray dogs cant dig in. Periodically check the ground wire for broken edges. If you have an existing fence, you can
