Are panda bears good for anything?
Yes, they are good for being Pandas. Many people have become divorced from the natural world. We see ourselves as separate from nature, so do not respect nor understand the costs of our behaviours. We do not recognize the ‘oneness’ of the Earth, the interconnectedness of all living things and that we are part of that web. We need an underpinning ideological change that promotes quality rather than quantity and equality of all living things (and none living systems such as rivers). Pandas are good at being Pandas. That is all they need to be; Pandas. We need to recognize and promotes the intrinsic value of all living things, (just for being what they are), not for what they can ‘give/provide’ to us. The Earth is not hierarchical with man being at the top of the list, we are just part of it, equal to, not superior to, other living things. So we should seek to meet all needs of all living things including clean air, water, food, habitat, reproduction/maintenance of species not just human
