Are ozone generators safe?
Yes, however, the use of an ozone generator in extremely high concentration for long periods of time is not recommended. There is virtually no irritation from small ozone generators, such as a plug in model, which is designed for constant use. Exposure to extremely high concentrations for long periods of time can cause headaches. Thus, after performing a shock treatment, it is recommended to ventilate the area thoroughly. “The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, in conjunction with the safe drinking act of 1991, confirms that ozone is effective in ridding water of hazardous pathogens, including chlorine resistant cryptosporidium.” – Agricultural Outlook, June-July, 1998.
