Are outdoor fire pits and “chimeneas” type devices permitted in the City?

0

Open fires in pits and “chimeneas” are allowed for cooking, heating, recreation and ceremonies, provided they comply with the limits for emission of visible air contaminants established by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources rules. No garbage or other waste not otherwise allowed by ordinance to be burned in the city is allowed to be burned in the outdoor fire pit or “chimenea”. Also, use of chimeneas shall be in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and recommendations for use.
