Are other charges, such as illustration and colour fees, covered by the Fund?
Some publishers of Open Access content do not charge extra fees or incorporate these fees into OA fees. Others charge both OA fees and extra fees, as two distinct amounts. Because the Fund is designed to cover OA fees alone and because double charging by publishers is discouraged, the Open Access Authors Fund will not support those publishers who charge submission fees and extra fees at the same time. If an article meets the criteria to be covered by the Fund, the OA fee will be paid for but any other charges will not.
