Are original printed documents required for customs clearance?

When you upload your trade documents using FedEx Electronic Trade Documents, you do not need to include printed copies in the pouch with your shipments. You may choose to print copies for your personal records, and this functionality is available when you process your shipment. NOTE: Applicable customs laws, rules and regulations may require additional documentation for certain commodities, values or quantities and/or original hard copy commercial invoices, licenses, or permits. It is the responsibility of the shipper to know when an original hard copy document is required and to place the original document in the pouch on the package.
