Yes, all organizations that meet the eligibility requirements may apply. We are interested in organizations planning to expand in communities of need throughout the United States. They do NOT have to be located, operating or planning to expand in these four states. All applicants must demonstrate, however, in their answer to Question 2.6 in the online application form, that the communities in which they seek to expand meet the definition of “community of need” (link). NC, SC, OK and CA are initial priorities for the Foundation, and preference will be given to organizations seeking to expand there when we assess the pool of applicants, but we fully expect SIF grants will also go to organizations working in communities of need elsewhere.
